Ok, ok. Maybe that is a bit of stretch from what this post is really about but hopefully I got your attention any ways. Really what I have is some information on a organization/pseudo movement known as
"Green Roofs". Its basically non existent here in the U.S. but has a presence in Europe. The purpose of Green Roofs is to install vegetation on the roofs of urban areas so as to provide more places for plants to grow in crowded cities and provide a place for habitat such as birds and help with building insulation and pollution.
So really instead of the hobbit house above the reality is below
Not quite as cool but the implications may not be half bad.

They talked about the goodness of encouraging invertebrates to grow as well. What keeps the invertebrates on the roof and not infesting the house? All and all cool idea.
